Color By Numbers- Review and Giveaway!
I’ve got a fun little review and giveaway for all of my readers! How many of you remember color-by-numbers from childhood? Or those neat paint-by-number coloring books with the built in water color paint pad? I remember them and I loved them! So when this opportunity came my way I jumped! I don’t know who was more excited me or X-man, of course Bug was sooo willing to help his big brother too!
I received product codes from Color By Numbers that allowed us to download the full versions of Color-By-Numbers Vehicles and Animals. (So I secretly kinda wanted the Princess ones, but shh don’t tell!) I can tell you right now that X-man LOVES them!! He had so much fun coloring the pictures and I love that it’s helping him with his numbers, number recognition, and color recognition. It’s also helping him with basic computer skills, though I will say it’d be MUCH easier with a mouse instead of just a touch pad like we have on our laptops. (Note to self: purchase a mouse in the near future!)
It helps quite a bit that the colors won’t work in the wrong numbered space. Say you’ve selected color number 3 and you want to fill in color spot number 7. It won’t work but it will flash which color tube to select. X-man figured it out pretty quickly and only needed a bit of guidance on the first page, after that he was set and I had to pry my laptop out of his hands. Perhaps instead of buying him a mouse we should get the kids their own computer…hrm. You can easily set the colors yourself as well just by clicking the paint tube icon at the top of the screen you can change the preset color to whatever your heart *cough* I mean your childs heart *cough* desires! When the image is fully colored a fun little graphic plays over the screen in celebration, it really is quite fun!
And when you’re all finished the picture is automatically saved so that your child can choose to erase the coloring next time or keep it all prettied up. The music and sound effects are fun and inviting, helping to make learning fun! Overall I have to say I give it 5 stars. It's an awesome program and the price isn't too bad either!
Color By Numbers also has a nice little video about the product you can watch to find out more too!
